This service allows cancer patients to consult a specialist via video, from the safety and comfort of their home.

 

Who is the video consultation intended for?

The video consultation is intended for oncological patients who are suitable for proton therapy at our facility. It may ease anxieties to speak with one of our oncologists to discuss things in greater detail, prior to committing to the treatment and traveling to Prague.

 

How to schedule a video consultation?

You can contact the Proton Therapy Center by phone, e-mail, or by filling out the entry form on our website.

One of our treatment coordinators, together with our medical team, will evaluate your health condition. If you are suitable for proton therapy, they will offer you an initial consultation.

This consultation can be done in person or online. After scheduling an online consultation, you will be sent an e-mail confirming the date and time, and with information regarding technical security and processing of personal data. You will also receive a reminder before the video consultation, so that you do not forget it.

  • Possibility to undergo an initial consultation even in the event of presence of coronavirus symptoms or in the case of quarantine.

 

FAQ's - Frequently Asked Questions

1. How is the video consultation conducted?

One of our doctors will remotely meet you to discuss the side effects and outcomes of proton therapy in your specific case, as well as the concrete treatment plan. The doctor will also explain what to expect during and after the treatment. Finally, all of your questions are answered.

 

2. Can I choose a specific time for my video consultation?

You can choose the time period which would be most suitable for you. The doctor will then confirm the consultation date and time.

 

3. Can I choose which doctor to meet?

If you wish to speak with a specific doctor, and if they are specialized in your specific diagnosis, we will be happy to arrange a consultation with them. If this will not be possible, we will choose a different doctor together with you.

 

4. What do I need for a video consultation?

Either a smartphone, laptop, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone. Then, a stable internet connection and an e-mail address.

 

5. How do I access the video consultation?

  • Open the invitation in the e-mail, click the link, and click Connect.
  • You will then see the following options:

If you are connecting from a laptop or computer and do not want to install anything, click Connect from browser.

If you are connecting from a mobile phone or tablet (android/iOS), then you need to download the application (for free): click on Download app: Google Play or App Store.

  • Enter your name and e-mail address and click Next.
  • If you are asked to enter the password for the meeting, enter the password for the meeting as stated in the email invitation, then click on Next.
  • The application will ask you to allow the use of a microphone and a camera - enable this.
  • At the agreed time, click on Join session.

 

6. Is the video consultation safe?

The video consultation takes place through the platform Cisco Webex Meet. All communication between clients and the Webex cloud uses TLS 1.2 and AES 128 or AES 256 is used for encryption. Security details can be found here.

 

7. What are the supported internet browsers?

Cisco Webex is compatible with the following browsers: Chrome 65 (recommended), Internet Explorer 11, Edge 25 / EdgeHTML 13, Firefox 48, Safari 11.0 and higher. A complete list of minimum requirements for Cisco Webex can be found here.

 

8. What other equipment do I need to access the e-CLINIC?

If you connect to the video ambulance via computer or laptop (using an Internet browser), we recommend using headphones, ideally from a mobile phone, which are equipped with a microphone. If you do not have a computer equipped with an integrated camera, a commonly available external web-cam will suffice.
